The JITO Youth Wing Ahmedabad, under the dynamic leadership of Chairperson Shri Sarvaswa Chhajer and team, successfully organized a 1^st Domestic Retreat to Delhi. This exclusive event, held on the 1^st and 2^nd of June 2024, offered participants a unique opportunity to visit the Parliament House, the Rashtrapati Bhavan, and the Haldiram Factory. The retreat featured insightful interactions with Mr. Om Birla, Hon'ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha and business leaders, including Mr. Ashish Agrawal, Director of Haldiram Foods. 

Day 1: June 1st, 2024 

 Parliament House Visit and Address by Mr. Om Birla:

The retreat commenced with an exciting visit to the Parliament House, a historical and architectural marvel, which serves as the epicenter of Indian democracy. The group of 65 participants, comprising 35 from Ahmedabad and 30 from North Delhi, had the honor of attending an exclusive address by Mr. Om Birla. The Hon'ble Speaker enlightened the youth delegation on the functioning of the Indian legislative system, the importance of active citizenship, and the role of youth in shaping the nation’s future. His inspiring speech encouraged the young attendees to engage more actively in civic duties and governance. 

 Rashtrapati Bhavan Visit:

Following the Parliament House visit, the delegation proceeded to the Rashtrapati Bhavan. This grandiose Presidential Residence stands as a testament to India's rich heritage and democratic ethos. The participants were treated to a guided tour, which included a visit to the Mughal Gardens, the Ashoka Hall, and the Durbar Hall. This visit was not only informative but also provided a glimpse into the ceremonial aspects of the Indian presidency. 

 Special Lunch at Parliament House:

The morning’s activities culminated in a special lunch at the Parliament House, providing an excellent opportunity for informal interactions among the participants. This meal, served in a stately setting, featured a variety of delectable dishes, allowing attendees to savor the flavors of Indian cuisine while reflecting on the morning’s experiences. 

 Business Panel Discussion:

In the afternoon, the participants gathered for a highly anticipated business panel discussion. This session featured Mr. Ashish Agrawal (Director, Haldiram Foods), Mr. Ramesh Bhandari (Director, A-Class Marble), and Mr. Arjun Nijhawan (Director, TBO Tek). The panelists shared their insights on entrepreneurship, business innovation, and the challenges and opportunities in their respective industries. This interactive session allowed the youth to ask questions and gain valuable advice from seasoned business leaders. 

 Cross-Networking Mixer:

The day concluded with a cross-networking mixer, which included youth representatives from six chapters: East Delhi, Faridabad, North Delhi, Gurugram, New Delhi, and Ahmedabad. This event, attended by notable youth leaders such as Sankalp Jain (Faridabad Youth CC), Aniq Jain (Gurugram Youth CC), and Samyak Jain (North Delhi Youth CC), facilitated meaningful connections and collaborations among participants. The mixer, accompanied by a sumptuous dinner, provided an ideal setting for exchanging ideas, forging new friendships, and enhancing inter-chapter camaraderie. 

Day 2: June 2nd, 2024

 Haldiram Factory Tour:

The second day of the retreat began with an exclusive tour of the Haldiram Factory. This visit offered a behind-the-scenes look at one of India’s most successful snack companies. The group, comprising 40 participants, observed the production processes, quality control measures, and innovative practices that have propelled Haldiram to its current stature. Mr. Ashish Agrawal provided an in-depth overview of the company’s journey, emphasizing the importance of maintaining quality and adapting to market trends. This hands-on experience was particularly enlightening for those aspiring to venture into the food and beverage industry. 

After the factory tour, participants enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Haldiram Factory. This meal, featuring an array of Haldiram’s signature snacks and dishes, highlighted the brand’s culinary excellence and provided a fitting conclusion to the factory visit. 

Following lunch, participants flew to the airport for their return journeys. The retreat concluded with participants expressing their gratitude for the well-organized and enriching experience. The trip not only broadened their understanding of Indian governance and business practices but also fostered lasting bonds and professional networks.

The Domestic Retreat to Delhi, organized by the JITO Ahmedabad Youth Wing, was a resounding success. Under the leadership of Shri Sarvaswa Chhajer and Ms. Aksha Shah, the event provided participants with a unique blend of educational, cultural, and professional experiences. The retreat not only broadened the horizons of the young attendees but also strengthened their commitment to contributing positively to society. The event’s success has set a high benchmark for future initiatives, reinforcing JITO Ahmedabad Youths dedication to fostering leadership, learning, and networking among its members.
