Inauguration Ceremony
We are pleased to share with you that JITO Ahmedabad celebrated JITO FOUNDATION DAY on 10th March, 2013 and once again wrote other page in History by revisiting the rich history and heritage of Jainism in Ahmedabad. We inaugurated our prestigious long term project JITO HERITAGE GAURAV YATRA a guided walk of historical Jain temples of Ahmedabad in the august presence of Shri Asitbhai Vora, Mayor Of Ahmedabad and Shri Samvegbhai Lalbhai managing trustee of Kalyanji Ananji Pedhi . The program was attended by more than 500 JITO members and Jains of Ahmedabad.

JITO Ahmedabad in association with City Heritage Center conducted a detailed study of ancient Jain temples in the walled city of Ahmedabad and shortlisted 33 heritage temples built before 100 year. A guided walk around these Jain temples will be conducted every saturday and sunday free of cost giving complete history of each temple. Initially the walk will cover 15 temples and latter all the 33 temples will be covered in the walk.

The program started with the welcome address by President JITO Ahmedabad Chapter, Shri Ganpatraj Chowdhary along with thought provoking speeches by the eminent guests. The walk was then formally inaugurated by flagging off by the Dignitaries present. All the guests were then taken on the first guided tour of the temples.

On the occasion Mayor Shri Asitbhai Vora said that such walk is quite important so as to maintain and pass on the culture and rich principles of our ancestors to the new generation and to make them aware about the heritage value that these monuments possess.
